Wally Lamb was born on October 17, 1950 in Norwich, Connecticut. He graduated from Vermont College with an M.F.A. in 1984; the University of Connecticut with an M.A. in 1977; the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in 1972. His wife, Chris, is a high school teacher. They have three sons. The Lambs live in the same three-story Victorian house in Willimantic, Connecticut they bought the week they were married.
